I am a coach, mentor, teacher and parent with over 20 years experience in mentoring, coaching, teaching and training. I also have 4 years experience on the leadership group of the University of Reading, a role I left in July 2019 to pursue coaching and diversity and inclusion consultancy more broadly. I qualified from Henley Business School with a Professional Certificate in Coaching in January 2020 and have been an Accredited Coach with the Association for Coaching since January 2021. I have over 150 hours of formal coaching experience and many more hours of informal experience
I have been both head of a world-leading University department, managing 50 academics and the strategic lead for Diversity and Inclusion for a complex organisation, responsible for setting targets and rolling out initiatives involving a range of stakeholders. I have also been President of a Learned Society, chairing the board of trustees, and have direct experience of the challenges of work-life balance or blend, having worked part-time since 2008 and having two periods of parental leave.
The golden thread linking my various roles is “enabling people to thrive”. Whether this is through teaching, mentoring, advising or coaching, helping people to flourish and thrive is my passion. I have coached and mentored people going through career decisions including promotion, those taking on leadership roles, those returning from career breaks, and those with some broader life choices to make. I also have a particular interest in coaching women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Medicine) and in education related organisations.
